the DH part II spoilers from yesterday.



So, on and off I've been thinking about this all day whilst in a legal opiate haze.

In book canon, as we all know, Severus dies/rests/takes forty winks in the Shrieking Shack. Okay, so it's not a glamourous place to kick the bucket and join the choir eternal, but it is as perfect a place for Severus to pass through the veil as there ever would be.

After all, he owes Potter Snr a life debt for saving him from death in the self same building when they were students at Hogwarts.

I just can't see how changing his death/rest location will make it a 'good' or 'romantic' death. Unless of course he declares his undying love for Hermione/Harry as they collect his memories.

The other reported change is that it's not Moldi who calls out to those in Hogwarts to surrender Potter but it's Snape who prowls the Great Hall asking the Staff and Students to tell him where Potter is. Now this change I can get behind. It means more Rickman screen time and I'm intrigued to see how he plays it. Will there be an edge of desperation, after all, the end of the Battle is drawing near and he has important information to tell Harry.

I guess we just have to sit and wait and see how it all plays out. I'm not sure how much input Alan had wrt how and where Severus died, but it was reported that JKR spoke with him about how he saw it all ending for Severus... May be these changes have given Alan even more of a hump against WB and the Production Team for the films.

I know I will go see the film on opening day.

I know, more than likely, that I will see it numerous times on the large screen.

I know I will cry like a baby during all of the SS scenes because damn it the man has my heart.

What I don't know is whether or not they will, in the end, do Severus' tale justice. I really hope that Dan is right and that the memories he watches do Severus justice.

Just my Sickles worth of thinky thoughts.

No body, no funeral, not dead. Severus is someplace with Hermione and/or Lucius and/or Bill. That's my own Potterverse canon.
